Heath residents “On Sight Opticians“, who provide corporate eyecare services to companies all over the North West, had to become inventive when their business was paused by Covid 19 restrictions, meaning they could not work in their customers offices and factories.

They spent their time during lockdown converting an ex-Metropolitan Police riot van into a mobile opticians facility, which is now being used at workplaces, including The Heath,  to allow Covid-secure and self-contained eye tests and glasses dispensing.
Director Ivor Howells explained, ” As we were unable to provide our services in the usual Occupational Health Dept or office setting at our clients’ sites, we spent the months of spare time building a completely self contained eye testing facility which we can operate safely and independently.

It comes complete with well-equipped eye testing room, shop area, and office.  To allow for social distancing our patients can book an appointment  and be seen on a one-to-one basis, enabling us to continue supplying routine eye tests, VDU and safety glasses, certification for industry and well-priced budget designer glasses for everyone.”

Regular clinics are planned at The Heath for residents and staff, please call 01928 515565 to enquire about the next dates available.
